Corporate Profile
Appian Group's corporate objective is to be market leaders in providing strategic project direction and management services for major projects.
Appian Group was formed in 2002, and was immediately successful in securing the project direction role for the CBD Courts Project in Perth. This project was the first Public Private Partnership to be delivered under the Western Australian Government's "Partnerships for Growth" policy. Appian Group was responsible for preparation of the business case, project definition, procurement and contract negotiations, and is now acting as project manager for the delivery phase of this highly successful project.
In 2005 Appian Group expanded and broadened its capabilities to include the three current directors (Steve Cary, Richard Mickle and Nadia van Dommelen) and since this time has provided strategic advice and project management services on major projects in Perth and around Australia including:
- The $1.76b Fiona Stanley Hospital Project in Perth;
- Pacific National's 67ha redevelopment of the Perth Freight Terminal Redevelopment; and
- The business case for the proposed Supreme Court Redevelopment to accommodate the long term accommodation needs of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
The success of Appian Group is predicated upon its ability to ensure the significant involvement of its directors in the formative stages of a project to quickly yet comprehensively ascertain the fundamental business drivers and operational issues which define the project's requirements. This provides our clients with a single point of performance accountability and ensures appropriate focus on the critical front-end activities where the primary opportunity exists to generate value for the client.
Appian Group is able to differentiate its service through our ability to ensure that operational reforms and strategic management issues are incorporated into the project requirements, thereby enabling change management plans to be developed and implemented in parallel with the development of the physical asset.
